Any time you have to move it means stress. A moving company is in business to service you but a move is just plain stressful. A move of home also takes a lot of work and you do have to coordinate your actions with the moving company too. If you keep in touch with them then both of you will have a good move. It's when you forget to coordinate with your removals people that you begin to have problems. Just remember to call them if you have any change of plans or dates or even if you find you have a lot less to move than you thought because you did such a good job of sorting out what you are going to move and what you are gong to sell or toss. If the amount of poundage is reduced the movers may even be send out a smaller van to get you moved which will certainly cost less money.

One thing to consider when you work with your moving company is coordinating the parking of the van or truck. You want to get it as close as possible to your home because some companies charge more if they have to go a long distance. Also the moving truck or van has to be parked where the movers can easily open all of the doors. This may include doors on each side of the van and then also in the back. They need to get access so they can store you goods safely and close enough together so the boxes and other items don't shift around during the actual move. You don't want to have crunched boxes unloaded onto your new home floors. Also if your items take up less than a truck load they often will combine several homes in one van. This does take coordination and you are just one part of that puzzle.

If you have a lot of odd sized bulky items you also may be charged more for them because they tend to weigh less than the amount of space they utilize so you may have a bulky article charge put on these items. If you have any concerns about this type of item then make sure you ask the estimator if they do this and if so what items do they include in this category. Generally it would be for something like a Jacuzzi or a camper if you are having them move it, or motorcycles and the like.

If you have carpeting that s tacked down and you need the movers to take it up and move it also you may be charged additional labor for this service. There may other services that you ask the movers to provide or there may things such as stairs or elevators which they will have to negotiate which they may charge you for in addition to the actual move.

Also remember a removals company has some items they won't move so make sure you know if there are any.
