The 76ers catch Bosh, Wade, LeBron, and the Heat who are looking to bounce back from their loss to the Celtic last night. I believe that all of the hype surrounding the Heat, and all of the high expectations, is giving us some line value in this game. The 76ers, with new acquisition Elton Brand and 2nd overall pick Evan Turner out of Ohio State, should be able to put up a solid fight in their home opener, and keep this game close. This is a half unit play.

The Raptors move on this season without Chris Bosh who was the face of their franchise, and the key to their team last year. This is the beginning of a long rebuilding process for them. Even though the Knicks got the cold shoulder from Bosh, Wade, and LeBron, they were still able to acquire Amare Stoudemire. The Knicks had a great preseason, while the Raptors struggled. I believe that it is definitely a sign of things to come for a Raptors team that will have challenges without Bosh this season. Let's look for Stoudemire and the Knicks to start their season off on the right foot with a win at Toronto tonight. This is a half unit play.

BOBCATS +6.5

The Mavericks continue to be an overrated team by Vegas, in my opinion. I can remember several times last year that they were favorites, or double digit favorites, and they did not cover. I believe that this will be the case again tonight. The Bobcats, now under the full control and ownership of Michael Jordan, and in their third year being coached by Larry Brown, are coming off of the franchise's first ever playoff berth last season. I believe that they are going to be a competitive team again this season. They have a very talented frontcourt led by Stephen Jackson, Gerald Wallace, and Boris Diaw. They were also able to bring back forward Tyrus Thomas who joined them in February of last year. They will be in several games this year, and I believe that it starts on the road at Dallas tonight. Let's grab the points with the underrated Bobcats, as we expect them to cover and maybe have a shot at pulling off the upset against the Mavericks tonight. This is a half unit play.

Here is another case where I believe we are getting some value with the big name Spurs against the poor hapless Pacers. The Pacers offense has improved this season, and they should be able to put up enough points to stay within this number against the Spurs. Look for them to be able to play an up tempo game, as they try to wear down this old Spurs team in the 2nd half. The Spurs are still a very talented team, and I expect them to win (especially since the Pacers have not won in San Antonio since January 4, 2002), but I expect the Pacers to surprise a lot of people offensively as they give the Spurs a game and cover the 9 points for us tonight. This is a half unit play.
