Landlords using safety stickers in new scheme

As part of a nationally approved accreditation scheme, landlords are being given out a range of window safety stickers.

Website Safety Signs Supplies claims that a report in newspaper The Shuttle, has outlined how landlords from the Wyre Forest area in the county of Worcestershire are now being encouraged to use these custom stickers as part of the scheme.

Those landlords who want to join the project need to initially apply to the scheme before they can be approved and receive the window stickers. Likewise, once this accreditation has been obtained, the landlords can also access certificates to prove they have been trained on issues such as energy efficiency and how to advertise an empty property.

This project has been designed in order to give these landlords training and important information in an attempt to help them deliver higher standards to the tenants living in their rented properties. It is also hoped that this will help improve the relationships between landlord and tenant.

Wyre Forest District Council's executive member for environmental and housing services, Marcus Hart has explained to The Shuttle that he is hopeful the scheme will be well received by landlords in the area.

He said: "Becoming a member of this scheme will give landlords a competitive advantage because it will show that you provide good quality housing that is well equipped, hygienic, safe and secure."

Website, Safety Signs Supplies has revealed that safety stickers have also been used in other parts of the country in recent weeks. Some of the lucky recipients were a group of children from the southern county of Somerset. After receiving some important information on how to stay safe when out on their bikes, the children were then presented with their safety badges as proof they had received the training.
