Therefore, he is planning to do a particularly special presentation to show his talent.
The first thing flash into his mind is that he needs a laser pointer. He never used that thing in former presentations but knew it on a course of his colleague's. This little light stick gives him a good idea for his presentation. Thus, he spends $150 for one. That is lot money for a scrubby teacher like him. He laughs like a kid on the way home with the lovely laser pointer in his hand, and can't wait to use it on the presentation. Walking and imagining. He opens it, points this glimmer red spot to the wall, then the glass of a window. Suddenly, the tragedy happens.
A man dashes out of a house, pushes Vincent against the wall, fastens his hands at back and then drives him away. Vincent is shocked by this unexpected attack. He will probably think it is a kidnap if he can't realize he is taken into a police station, and detained by the policeman in the jail.
Finally, the cap finds out the truth, and releases Vincent two days later. In fact, the cap that locked Vincent up was patrolling on the street. Suddenly, he noticed a red spot was flicking on his chest, which he thought was an infrared gun. After he run out of the house, he found Vincent hold something, like holding a gun, point to a window. The cap rushed into Vincent and subdued him within one minute.
Misfortune may be an actual blessing. Vincent becomes a topic focus since then. And he shows a particular and impressive presentation on his course. The local media have vied with one another to report his fantastic experience. For Vincent, not only he leaves the small town to the main city, but also gets other lots of chances to do presentation and speech which are all about the laser pointer.
