Kydex also has less friction, making it quicker on the draw. Its more affordable price and comparable features to leather make it a popular choice among buyers. If you plan to use your firearm for competition, want to carry it as a concealed weapon, or need something that won't draw attention to itself, Kydex is your material.

Nylon is great for sportsmen on a budget. It is easily the cheapest material available; however, it won't form to the gun's shape like leather and Kydex will. If shooting is simply a hobby and you do not plan to use your gun very frequently or care to spend a lot of money, nylon may be a good choice. Keep in mind that if you are intending to use your firearm for several diverse activities, such as for use in a shooting competition as well as for a back-up weapon, you may want to invest in two different kinds of holsters.
