Lessons to Be Learnt From Failed Parcel Deliveries
A recent news story covered how a couple who ordered a special item for use in their wedding failed to arrive in time and worse yet, the tracing information from the postal service said it had been delivered but the couple were at home on the day the parcel supposedly arrived and did not receive any parcel on that day. It is yet another case where someone's parcel delivery has gone awry and meant that the customer has been let down and frustrated by the service they received.
Many other problems have arisen to do with parcel deliveries in recent years from parcels not being delivered to items being damaged in the post that were fragile and often irreplaceable. There are many lessons to learn for the people involved but there are also many who are planning to send a parcel who could avoid the same mistakes...
Send Early
Sending parcels can be and often are delayed, whether it is just a day late or weeks in some severe cases the result is the same, and considering many people will be sending parcels to business contacts and customers any delay could mean your reputation is affect and harms the chances of any future business.
Pack Your Parcels Securely
Your parcel's contents should be sent in a shipping container or cardboard box that is at least one inch bigger around all sides, this allows you some room to insulate the parcel if it is knocked or dropped. It's not just the damage your item could receive on the outside, it is the damage that it could receive whilst rattling around inside your parcel too.
Choose a courier
Couriers are the preferred option when you need to send a parcel, they are known for being able to deliver parcels that are larger or heavier but also have significantly less to handle compared to the postal service. Considering they also have detailed tracking of your parcel from start to finish and increased security they are clearly the best option to use when sending something fragile or expensive in a hurry.
Couriers such as Fed Ex, UPS and DHL among others are going to be the best option when you need to send a parcel, make sure your express delivery arrives in time for any deadlines you have, business or personal by choosing the service that delivers on their promises!
