Leveling Up When You Install Kitchen Cabinets

I feel that to obtain the very best results, you should make a trip out to the local

rental store and rent a laser level for a day to get the installation started off on the level. By renting a laser level, it will give you the very best level line possible.

It only takes a few minutes to set it up, and after you have transferred the laser line on the walls, you are ready to get started. Go to each inside corner and outside corner and mark the laser level line at these locations.

After this step is complete, you will need to use a chalk line to snap between the marks. There is one thing that you should be sure that you do in the next step. Have someone else help you pull the chalk line as tight as possible between the marks. Line sagging is the number one reason for the cabinets to be installed incorrectly. Double check the lines by using the laser level again, making sure that the lines match up with each other.

If you cannot rent a laser level or if it is not in your budget, then a four foot level will work just fine. If you do use the four foot level, you will need to be very accurate with it.

Start drawing the level lines around the walls after you have found the high spot of the floor. While you are using the level, I recommend that you have the help of someone else with the opposite ned of the four foot level.

Now, after you have drawn out the lines on the walls, flip the level end for end and work back in reverse. You will know when you return to the beginning if the level is accurate. If the lines are matching up, then you can be assured that the level is accurate. If you find that the lines are not lining up, your level is not accurate and you will need to purchase a new one.

When you rent a laser, you will avoid any of these problems. A laser level will save you some prep time and will give you the very best level line possible. The level line that you first establish is like the foundation of any building. If it is not right here, the entire process will be compromised.
