List Relationship Marketing - Feature Someone From Your List And Promote Their Accomplishments

When I was a classroom teacher we always chose students as our citizens of the month

, most improved students, or other titles that offered a type of recognition. On the Internet you can do the same exact thing by featuring someone on your list and recognizing them for their online achievements.

Even though you are dealing with adults, you will be surprised at how much it means when you take the time to publicly praise them for what they are doing. When you begin doing this, decide how often you will single out someone to recognize, how you will feature them, and what you will do to follow up with them after it is over. Most of the time I like to surprise someone with this method, but sometimes I will ask them in advance if they mind me sharing information about them with the rest of my list.

They will want to be ready for what will happen once I make my announcement public, so this gives them time to spruce up their blog and make sure everything in their online business is running smoothly. Then I am able to get to work on my end.

I will begin by writing a post for my blog that names them my outstanding student or outstanding colleague. I will include a picture of them in the post. I like to share a story of how I came to know them, or something else that is meaningful, along with some detailed information about exactly what they have to offer on the Internet.


I keep it all very professional, but I will mention a spouse or children if I have their permission. This post will then go to Twitter and Facebook, so the world will know who they are within just a few seconds.

It is amazing to see how many comments and interactions will then take place as a result of this original blog post. On my next teleseminar, which is never more than a week away, I will then feature them by doing a short interview.

If I am helping them to promote a product or service, I will typically do so through my affiliate link. You do not have to do it this way, but it is at your discretion to do it this way.

I like to follow up by interviewing them again about six months later. This gives my list the chance to see what can be done in a matter of months, and keeps my calendar filled with people I can interview and promote.
