Live In Comfort With Memphis Air Conditioning

Growing up in western Washington, where the climate is relatively mild

, the fact that my family didn't have Memphis air conditioning was never a problem. There were one or two weeks during the summer when it would get really hot, and at that point my dad would hook up our window air conditioning in one room of the house so that we had a place to go for a solace from the heat while we relaxed and watched movies.

Now that I live in Salt Lake I can understand the necessity for having a quality and affordable cooling system installed in your house. The main reason that I know how important this can be is because my husband and I don't have one.

Our house does have central air, but when we first moved in we paid to get the system checked out so that we would know how efficient it is, and what we learned was that if we wanted to keep our house cool during the summer it was going to cost us a fortune. We don't really have the money to get it fixed right now, so our solution for the past two summers we've been living here is to do without.

We're basically using the same method that my parents used when I was growing up. We have a window air conditioning unit in our bedroom so that we can at least keep it cool enough to sleep in the evenings, but other than that our house is like an oven.

If I want to get any work done in the house, I try to do it in the morning while it's still cool; well, it's cool relatively speaking anyway. Then in the afternoon I either hibernate down in our basement where it doesn't get quite so hot or I read a book on my back porch which generally becomes covered in shade around 3:00.

This might sound like a nice routine considering how much afternoon rest and relaxation is involved, but honestly it's unhealthy to do much else in such hot temperatures. Trust me, no matter how nice that schedule might sound, it's not nice when you have to do it every day.

It's rather frustrating when you want to do some baking for dinner, but you know that it would practically be a death wish to turn on the oven and heat up your already overheated house.

My suggestion to anyone who lives in a climate where a cooling system is considered a necessity is to make sure that you have a Memphis air conditioning system to keep your house comfortable and cool.
