Liverpool, has agreed to sell the club to the New England Sports Ventures (Nesve) owners selling Major League Baseball Boston Red Sox.
The is subject to the approval of the Premier League, the resolution of the dispute concerning the board composition and other issues, a Liverpool statement said.
"I am delighted that we have been able to successfully conclude the sale process that was thorough and complete," said Liverpool chairman Martin Broughton said in a statement the club's website.
"The council has decided Nesve accept the proposal on the basis that best meet the criteria we originally set for a new owner. Nesve philosophy is to win and they all have fully demonstrated that the Red Sox.
" Current American owners of Liverpool Tom Hicks and George Gillett bought the club in Merseyside in February 2007-218900000 pounds.They by Barclays Capital in April to find a buyer and British Airways chairman Broughton appointed to oversee the sale.
Broughton said he was disappointed that the owners had "tried everything to prevent the transaction happen." The five-time champions of Europe need 237 million pounds of their major creditors Royal Bank of Scotland, which set a deadline of October 15 for debt refinancing, and Broughton said the agreement removed the debt burden of acquisition.
The club announced that the sale had gone through. "I am delighted that we have been able to successfully conclude the sale process which has been thorough and extensive," said Broughton.
"The board decided to accept NESV's proposal on the basis that it best met the criteria we set out originally for a suitable new owner. NESV's philosophy is all about winning and they have fully demonstrated that at Red Sox."
NESV is fronted by the multimillionaire John W Henry. It owns a portfolio of companies including the Boston Red Sox, New England Sports Network, Fenway Sports Group and Rousch Fenway Racing.
