Log Cabins 'can Be Great For Viewing Wildlife'

Many consumers in the UK either own or wish to own log cabins situated in their gardens to add to their living spaces.

However, this is not the only purpose of such constructions, a writer has pointed out.

In an article in the Belfast Telegraph, Katy Holland noted log cabins can be a perfect place from which to view wildlife.

And people do not have to travel to Africa to have safari adventures, she noted, pointing out that there is "safari-style fun to be had in some unlikely places".

For example, there is an animal park at Beekse Bergen in Holland that contains zebra and giraffe, among other creatures. There are also big cats that are kept in their own enclosures.

Meanwhile, families keen to get really close to nature in the wild can go on short breaks to Finland, where they can stay in log cabins near the Russian border in the taiga forests.

Such holidays are designed for those keen to get a glimpse of brown bears and they enable visitors to "watch Europe's most elusive mammals going about their daily business", Ms Holland stated.

She added that there are also moose, wolves and flying squirrels to see in the location.

According to the journalist, staying in this particular location is good for "families who like their wildlife really wild".

In conclusion, the writer stated: "It's good to know that going animal spotting doesn't have to mean going completely wild with the bank account."

Indeed, going abroad on a budget may be a priority for many consumers at present, whether they intend to stay in log cabins or not.

The UK has officially come out of the recent recession but people's budgets are still stretched and there are predictions among some analysts that government spending cuts will lead to further economic problems.
