In one of many stories from the Old Testament, God called upon Jeremiah to live the lonely life of a prophet. Jeremiah's loneliness came as a result of his unyielding obedience to God. This is a story commonly reflected upon those suffering from loneliness as often feelings of loneliness are a result of the conflict between one's faith and the faith of family and friends.
