Environmental health officers are responsible for anything to do with public health

To obtain a job in environmental health you will need a degree in one of the chartered institute of environmental healths approved courses.

Although a degree is needed before becoming an environmental health office you will still need to have on-going training to keep up to date on all new legislation and techniques in the industry. Many private companies will also employ their own environmental and safety officer to help in the smooth running of operations.

This will ensure that staff are fit and well and the premises are well within environmental health legislation. They also make sure that the risk of injury to employees in the work place is at the bare minimum. They will also identify the high risk areas and implement a plan to find solutions to the high risk areas.

Overall there are many environmental health jobs available these days and the great advantage is that they are available in many sectors.
