Looking Good in a Tux

The tuxedo, also called penguin suit' or tux, is one of the many types of formal attire that can be quite difficult to pull off

. Some men often find it challenging to wear one because a suit is actually composed of several parts. Wearing a tux is not just like wearing a pair of pants and shirt. There are certain details that men should be careful of.

It's hard to impress when you are totally clueless of what to do. To avoid looking disheveled and silly in a tux, here are some tips men can use to look good in a tux.

Tip #1: The tuxedo worn should best fit the man's body. More often than not, men buy or rent a tux that is either one size bigger or smaller than their built. Those who wear a smaller tux tend to have difficulties when moving or even when walking. On the other hand, a bigger tux is very inconvenient for the wearer. A better option to have that right fit of tux is to have it tailor-made. As the suit is being designed and made, the wearer can check and have the adjustments made.

Tip #2: Using accessories is not a bad idea, as long as you know what items to use. The use of cufflinks, pocket squares and ties can add more class and style to that ordinary tux. Color and pattern is used to the wearer's advantage. Nowadays, ties and other accessories, like a black bow tie, are available in different styles and colors. Choosing the right one is not a hard task. As long as the whole ensemble matches and fits you, then it's okay to use.

Accessorizing too much won't help in making a man look good. Wearing accessories can make or break the appearance. Use accessories when and if needed.

Tip #3: Tuxedos are used for formal occasions. The appropriate kind of footwear then needs to be used together with this formal attire. Instead of using a comfortable pair of sandals or slippers, which would definitely ruin the look, choose a pair of well-polished shoes. There are a lot of tuxedo shoe styles to choose from like wing tips, oxfords and slip-ons. Remember to choose the right size, not to fitting and not to loose.

Tip #4: If tuxedos can be cleaned and press, so can the man who wears the tuxedo. Being well groomed is also part of dressing up. Regardless of how clean the suit is, as long as the person has an unkempt appearance, the whole point of looking clean and classy is useless.

The simple task of combing the hair, cutting the nails and brushing the teeth can work wonders when it comes to looking good in what you are wearing.

Proper grooming and having a little personality in what men wear can help in making them look good in their clothing. Apart from this, a little boost of self confidence is also needed to truly pull of the whole classy tuxedo look.
