Well look no further. I want to tell you about a great church called New Life City.
New Life City, or NLC, was started by Alan & Gail Hawkins in the year 2000. Pastor Alan is one of the best teachers in the Body of Christ today. He has a passion for Jesus & a passion for people to practically live out the word of God.
Alan wanted to start a Word & Power church. That means a church that has a love for the Word of God & at the same gives room for the gifts of the Holy Spirit to operate.
As a missionary I have had the opportunity to travel all over the world and this is one of the best Word & Power churches that I have ever been to. You usually get either a church that focuses only on the Word of God or a church that focuses primarily on the Power of God. Very rarely do you get a church that actually does both!
One of my favorite things about this church is that they believe that God cares about your life now. Not just when you die.
The Kingdom of God is here to make a difference in your life.
There's 2 things that this church teaches that are different than most of the other churches.
1. Pastor Alan teaches that the whole emphasis of God's work among man kind is covenant. He does a class once a year called "The Emmaus Road" where he walks you from Genesis to Revelation and explains how the covenant has been the theme throughout the whole Bible.
2. He teaches that the book of Revelation isn't about some weird stuff that's going to happen in the future. He says that the book of revelation gives us practical insight on how to deal with every problem that will ever come at us. TOTALLY DIFFERENT! That teaching is called "Apocalypse Now"
