14 ounces of canned, diced tomatoes

3 cups of vegetable broth

3 cloves of garlic, chopped

1 bay leaf

a teaspoon of fennel seed

salt and pepper to taste

Preparation:

Put all the vegetables minus the tinned tomatoes into the slow cooker. Leave on low heat for 6 to 8 hours. After this, pour in the tomatoes, stir, then allow to cook for another 10 to 15 minutes. Take out the bay leaf before you serve.

2 cups of lentils

Preparation:

Put all the ingredients into your slow cooker apart from the salt and pepper. On a low heat, you can leave it to cook throughout the day, but on high, it'll take about 4 hours.
