Lucid Dreaming Induction To Maximize Dream Potentials

Deja Vu. This is the feeling one sense in a familiar situation that may have been

dreamt of previously that is happening in reality. For most of us, this is an all too familiar situation. One can be in a place that seems so familiar though it is the first time that one has been to that location. The mind is a powerful tool which we are gifted with. This Deja Vu feeling is an example of perhaps a lucid dream that some people have a penchant for remembering. One can do lucid dream induction by actually having a piece of paper at your bedside and upon waking up, quickly jotting down what has been remembered. Or by using modern technology, one can record such dreams on digital audio recorders found on most cell phones these days.

The idea of dreams guiding our movements and actions are nothing new. The Native American Indians always believed in the power of dreams and often times induced themselves into a dream like state to resolve certain issues. Shamans often were the interpreters of the dreams of many, if not dream weavers themselves. It is believed that if we increased the utilization of our brain power by an additional 2% we could see the future through our dreams or our subconscious.

Dreams can also show something in our past that we may have repressed or forgotten. In many cases, in looking for lost items, we often urge ourselves to go back and retrace our steps, going into a dream like nature and vision ourselves in that critical time, seeing ourselves from above, and looking at the actions we did in order to find that lost article. There are also cases wherein it was a traumatizing experience that we wish to forget or suppress that somehow comes out in our dreams.

The use of our dreams is still important in psychoanalysis. Sigmund Freud often asked his patients to tell of their dreams and from there would conclude certain conditions of his patients. Especially for recurring dreams, these would be a subconscious signal coming from within the patient of a certain situation or issue that would need to be resolved.

We also use the aspect of dreams to envision our future. We ask our children what they dream of being in the future, or ask them to imagine what is their ideal place to visit, or to live. We all in some form or another utilize our dreams.
