As the Chief Executive Officer of Atlantic Diving Supply, Inc. (ADS, Inc.), Luke Hillier manages one of the nation's leading companies for tactical and operational equipment and logistics solutions. Although ADS continues to grow under his direction, Hillier has seen success with previous startup companies and is involved in the community through ADS and the Hillier-LaRose Foundation.

A native of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Hillier attended Old Dominion University in Norfolk and graduated in 1994. Upon graduating, he took a position with the Outstanding Scholars Program in Acquisition Management for the U.S. Navy and was recognized with a U.S. NAVAIR Meritorious Service Award for his work.

Hillier's next role was Lead State and Local Government Sales Representative for Oracle Corporation. In 1998, he won Sales Person of the Year by exceeding his sales quota by 300 percent.

Hillier later began Mythics, Inc., an Oracle Software reseller. Mythics supports federal, state, and local agencies, as well as healthcare and higher education facilities. Since inception, Mythics, Inc. has grown from a small startup into a company of over 60 employees with annual sales of more than $300 million.

Currently, Hillier is the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board at ADS, Inc., Hillier took an ownership position in the company in 2000 and was nominated as Chairman by ADS' Board of Directors. As CEO, Hillier oversees a company with annual sales of $1 billion and approximately 400 employees on east and west coasts, as well as international locations.

ADS is deeply involved in its community and recently held the ADS Angel Tree Party to celebrate its fourth year of partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of Hampton Roads. ADS employees donated toys and clothing for more than 130 children at the event.

ADS' Director of Community Relations, Troy Clifton, said "When we first began this program, we had gifts for 40 children. The program tripling in four years, speaks volumes about the type of employees ADS has. I feel blessed to work for a company where the leadership encourages us to get involved in the community. Luke Hillier and Dan Clarkson, our CEO and COO, are not only passionate about our company, but also about giving back. I'm thrilled to let the kids of the Boys and Girls Club know that there are people out there who really do care."

Outside of ADS, Luke Hillier is a co-founder and board member for the Hillier-LaRose Foundation. Established by the Hillier family in 2008, the Hillier-LaRose Foundation aims to fund cancer research, provide financial support for treatment for cancer patients, and to create public awareness regarding cancer and related treatment methods. The mission of the organization has since expanded to supporting addiction recovery and working with wounded warriors in Hampton Roads, too.

Recently, the Hillier-LaRose Foundation began a partnership with ORPHANetwork, a non-profit organization that works to improve the lives of orphaned children in Nicaragua. Last June, the Hillier-LaRose Foundation's board members traveled to Central America and saw firsthand the great need that exists with orphanages such as The Casa Bernabe, Veracruz and Hogar de Fe, "House of Faith".

Subsequently, the Hillier-LaRose Foundation has chosen the Hogar de Fe as its primary orphanage. With contributions made by the Foundation, Hogar de Fe purchases food and clothing for the children. The Foundation's contributions also assist with the costs of housing, education, and caregivers' salaries.

Most recently, Hillier made a personal donation to pay for a Christmas dinner and birth certificates. ORPHANetworks's Executive Director, Dick Anderson, explained, "In Nicaragua, you cannot get a real job, driver's license, or go to college without a birth certificate. You essentially don't exist without this document. This donation from Hillier will mean so much to the children of Hogar de Fe."

The experience had a profound impact on Hillier, who has now taken the cause to his company, ADS, Inc. Next May, he will lead a new set of volunteers, all ADS employees, to Nicaragua, in support of the ORPHANetwork.
