Luxury Chalets Chamonix - What You Need To Know Before You Book A Ski Chalet
When booking a ski chalet in Chamonix or any other ski resort for that matter
, there are certain factors that you should bear in mind before taking the plunge. Below are a few things to consider when your booking a ski holiday chamonix.
The Budget
It is no secret that it costs money to plan a European ski vacation. With that said, you might be surprised what you can get even while on a budget. On that same note, remember that your available travel budget will play an important role in the chalets available too you.
At first glance, you will like the advantages of a staffed luxury chalet; Chamonix is home to many of them, but you may be unable to afford their costs. A non-staffed cottage or villa will be significantly less in rental costs. What you must do however is ensure that you really do save money. Without an onsite staff, it is your responsibility to buy and make your own food. How close is the nearest supermarket? If it is not within walking distance, be sure to account for the cost of transportation.
Looking for a discount on a luxury chalet? Chamonix travel packages that include flights and airport transfers is one way to find a discount. Failing that some luxury chalets offer deals at certain times of the year.
Accommodation
Luxury accommodations in Chamonix do vary. Just because two properties are listed as chalets, it does not mean they will be similar in nature. In fact, they may be quite different. Never make your travel arrangements without first closely examining all pictures provided. Always remember that photographs can be deceptive; it is possible for room look bigger than it is with a wide camera angle. Your best bet is to not only examine pictures, but ask questions about the room sizes and more.
The Management
In Chamonix, you will find owner-run cottages and managed ones. Does the difference matter to you? Yes it does. Owner-run establishments tend to be better cared for because the owner/manager is not only located nearby, but they have vested interest in the property. Some owner-run chalets have their owner double as the professional chef; if this is a big importance of yours ask about their cooking habits and skills.
Your budget, management, and beauty are just a few of the many factors you want to consider when choosing a luxury chalet. Chamonix is come to many (as previously stated), so no matter what your wants or needs you should be able to find that perfect fit. You just need to know what to look for, choosing the right chalet can really make your ski holiday great!
