Lv Multicolor Phone Looks Like Blackberry - Luxcellphone
As the Christmas is approaching, luxcellphone.com hold many activuities
. The
LV Multicolor Phone is one of them - a discount new product.
It was perhaps only a matter of time before another Blackberry clone cropped up on our radar, and as luck would have it today's is a bit special. It's a Luis Vuitton version,
Luxury Mobile, designed to take the Blackberry concept to new heights and new audiences. I reckon the fashion designer himself would appreciate this one, especially at the sub 120USD price point.
This is not actually the first Blackberry clone to cross our path here at luxcellphone.com. You will recall the Obama endorsed one we encountered a few months ago. Well, what disappointed me a little with that one was that it modeled itself on the Blackberry Storm, which is a great phone sure, but a real Blackberry? No. Not for me. A true Blackberry must have that famous hardware qwerty keyboard. Without the keyboard you've missed the point completely as far as I'm concerned.
I'm pleased to say that the the Baoxing V9 cell phone we're looking at today is designed more in the spirit of a Blackberry and sports a very nice silver-blue hardware keyboard below it's 2.2. inch screen. The screen is a 240 x 320 pixel supporting a gloriously colorful 260,000 colors. It supports both (dual) GSM and CDMA SIM cards, apparently has two cameras (one for video and one HD pics), FM radio, can do MP4, 3GP and AVI video playback and basically anything else the MediaTek OS platform is capable of.
The Baoxing V9 retails for 800RMB or a little under 120USD and weighs 155 grams comes gold with silver, measuring 114mm x 59mm x 13.5mm.
We've haven't had our mucky paws on it yet of course, so I have to ascertain the build quality of the device, and in particular that keyboard. Blackberry have always impressed me with the solid yet light feel of their more recent smart phones, and it'll interesting to see how this clone compares.
One area that you'll have to agree will certainly be different is the OS. The MTK platform is a revolutionary piece of work that one simply has to admire, but in truth RIM's Blackberry OS is a great piece of software that is designed specifically for the needs of a Blackberry user. This might not be a problem to those shanzhai customers however, who are by now wholly raised on the MTK platform, and would be loathe to leave it behind despite its shortcomings.
For the competitive price on offer here the Baoxing V9 will be real hit with I suspect, a wider audience than the relatively narrow Blackberry crew that RIM sells to in the West. The Luis Vuitton branding
luxury phones too, open the device up to vastly different audience. The luxcellphone have again successfully managed to combine two concepts to create a new one that can serve markets that perhaps were under served before.
On a personal level I'm keeping my hopes up that we'll see a genuine Blackberry Tour soon. Nice and black and well.....Blackberry-ish. Can be doing with gold and silver.
