The development team have squeezed just about everything imaginable out of the formidable PSP hardware, and the result has been a steady stream of hardball awesomeness. If you are a PSP owner who has not seen The Show before, you're in for a treat.Sporting smooth and vibrant images, rock-solid gameplay and an impressive arsenal of offline and online options, it is a complete package. Whether you're down in a 162-game season, that pursue the dream of individual glory in Road To The Show, or participate in an online league, The Show has you covered. It's challenging, too - even on default settings - and require patience and practice to become a success.

It's a little weird to hear the balls, strikes, fair and foul is called the invisible men, even stranger to see a catcher reaching for a new baseball from the fact that a non-existing plate ump. One would think that the animations would at least be changed now that it seems the decision to never show men in blue are final, unfortunately, you'd be wrong.

MLB 09 The Show is the ultimate handheld baseball experience, a surprisingly deep and expansive take on America's pastime that offers more hardball than most of us could probably get in an entire season. There are not many noticeable improvements this year, although that may bring pause to those who have already gotten a couple of seasons under their belts.
