FNB Varsity Cup is the annual South African Rugby Union tournament where the top eight rugby match at the universities of the country. The tournament was founded in 2008, the inaugural race was won by Stellenbosch University. As the name implies, the tournament is sponsored by First National Bank, which is one of South Africa's Big Four Banks. Varsity Cup is unique because it carries out strict rules to ensure that only students of this university to compete, and also that all the games taking place on college campuses.
