MLM scams...Fact or Fiction?

Most MLM opportunities are legitimate, however there are a few that could be labeled as a

outright MLM scam. If you are seeking to join an MLM company for the first time to earn some extra money, or perhaps you want to replace your current income. Your ability to understand how the MLM industry works will assist you in making a profitable choice. In this article we will help you grow your understanding of how this industry works and what to look for.

MLM scams, do they really exist? First, we need to address the reason why some people consider this business model a scam. Most unsuccessful MLM marketers will be the first to tell you that the MLM business model does not work, but you will rarely hear a successful MLM marketer say this. Usually it is the fear of failure, rejection or the opinions of others that cause these people to have this attitude towards the industry. Anyone failing to understand "before joining".. that to be successful in the MLM industry requires hard work, learning new skill sets and more...will have this negative opinion about MLM.

Remember, that at the basic level of any business you must make sales to stay in business. This includes everything from insurance to manufacturing. The MLM industry is no different, you need to make sales, build loyal distributors, introduce quality products and provide premium customer service. The MLM business is really no different from a more traditional model, except that with MLM, you can duplicate your efforts and build residual income.

Yes, there are a few MLM scams around, but these scams are few and easily detected. Now, one of the most common MLM scams that I have seen many times is the Nigeria email scams... And incredibly it's still happening today. How it typically works, a scammer tells you a story to inform you know that he/she is going to send you a fortune that was left by someone who has died or is in trouble "usually a famous person in a distant land" They go on to tell you that they need an American account to transfer the funds too. Asking for your bank information, in order to transfer the money, and then giving you a percentage of the transfer for your efforts. Using some common sense and listening to your heart will keep you from being a victim.

Use the Internet. Thinking of joining an opportunity and not sure? Simply Google the companies name, or include the word "forum" before the search. This will usually return quite a bit of valuable information. From this search you can check out forum comments, possible victims and more. If you have the name of the person presenting you with the offer, Google their name. Look for information related to the person. Is their any information available?, are they connected to any social media sites?. It will become clear quite fast if this person is really involved in the industry or is scamming you.

The MLM business model is one of the most profitable ever devised. With a little research you will be able to easily tell if it's a MLM scam or legitimate. Do not allow your fear to keep you from building true residual income that can change your lifestyle.
