The Silk Museum on Park Lane tells the story of the silk industry in Macclesfield.

Sk10's most notable school is The King's School on Cumberland Street. It was founded in 1502 and follows the standard GCSE and A-Level curriculum, achieving one hundred per cent pass rate at A-Level, with seventy-six percent achieving an A or a B. The school was attended by Joy Division's Ian Curtis among others.
