Today, the Majilis Gallery is a place that adds to the spirit of the preserved heritage of Bastakia while providing a place for acclaimed local and international painters, sculptors and other artist to come together in a creative dialogue and showcase their forte.

The word majilis; which means a hospitable or pleasant meeting in Arabic, is a perfect match to the inviting and homely atmosphere of the place as you will no doubt find out the moment you walk in through those ornate doors and wander through the ornate halls at your leisure.
