Mehrangarh Fort
Dominating the landscape of the city, Mehrangarh fort is a famous attraction. Perched on a hill, the fort was built in 1459 by Rao Jodha. Later more structures were added to it by his successors. It is a huge fort with fortified walls. Offering bird's eye view of the city, the fort boasts of wonderful apartments such as Pearl Palace, Sheesh Mahal, Phool Mahal and Takat Niwas.
Umaid Bhawan Palace
Extravagantly majestic, this palace is an architectural marvel. Ideally located on a hill at the highest point in the city, the palace was once the largest residence in the world. Set amidst sprawling green gardens, the palace was completed in 16 years. It was built by interlocking of the carved positive and negative pieces of stones. The palace always maintains pleasant temperature which is one of its striking features. There are 347 rooms in it and some portion of it has been converted into a heritage hotel.
Handicrafts
You can shop for a wide variety of colorful and beautiful handicrafts in the bazaars of Jodhpur. From wooden furniture to embroidered juttis, tie and dye fabric, miniature paintings, puppets, leather ware and jewelry.
Nagur Fair
It is the second largest cattle fair of Rajasthan after Pushkar Fair. Celebrated in January every year, the fair is marked by several cultural activities such as camel competitions, camel races, dance and music.
