Here's how to customize your football helmet and shout out your statement and win the game:
First lay out all of your supplies outdoors. Use the wrench to remove the face guard, and set it aside for the meantime. Cover the inside of your helmet with craft paper and tape the edges with painter's tape.
Use your razor knife to gently lift the edges of any decals still on the outer part of the helmet but make sure to note the location and angle of the decals so that you can replace them properly. Discard all of the old decals after you've removed them from the helmet.
Primer helmet and face mask after you have applied sandpaper to rough up the surface. Wipe away remaining dust and debris on the helmet before applying the paint. Be aware of over spray when you paint, you can use cardboard or wood and conduct your painting in a well-ventilated area.
Once the primer is dry, apply spray paint of chosen color to both the helmet and face mask. Be sure to use a spray paint that is approved for indoor/outdoor use, and also pay a little extra for spray paint that will deter rust. Spray the entire football helmet evenly, working 10 - 12 inches away from the helmet's surface.
Lastly, apply the new decals to your helmet. Remove the backing and lay one end onto the helmet and slowly spread the entire decal on to the surface neatly and remember to use the same placement as that of the old decals. Remove the tape and paper from the inside of the helmet and replace the face guard.
