Have you reached that stage in your life where you want a committed relationship? Does he know how you feel about this and he's still holding tight and refusing to get married? Has he given you reasons, but you find them ridiculous and childish? More often than not women are in a rush to get that commitment. But why are men so reluctant?

Listen to a group of committed men talking about their relationships and you'll likely hear some griping about never having any free time, having to forego that Saturday afternoon game because she wanted to do something else, or the constant nagging. Some women even try to cut the ties he has with his friends, re-decorate his apartment and tell him how he should run his life.

This is usually coupled with decreased sexual activity, fewer fun nights out together and the sudden loss of that pleasant woman he fell in love with. When being with you becomes a chore, his desire to commit to a life of this with you is understandably low.

Does the term ball and chain ring a bell? And do you see yourself in this term? What men fear the most is really the loss of the fun life they've had up until they met you. And if the fun dates he once had with you are becoming more of a chore because you're on his case every minute, he sure sees that the fun is over.

Be aware of how you make him feel and feed his need to enjoy himself. This is the man you fell in love with, remember? Then show him that love instead of criticizing him for every little thing. Of course he'll never be perfect and he'll make mistakes along the way, but that's part of life. Admit it. You're not perfect either. Would you really like to have him breathing down your neck every moment of the day?

To keep from always being on his back, tend to your own life and keep busy with the things you enjoy. Not only will he respect the full life you have, but you'll be giving him a chance to miss you. And if you really pull back enough, he might start to wonder if he doesn't risk losing you.

All of a sudden you're no longer the clingy woman who is constantly on his back. You're this vibrant creature who has things to do and who makes life fun when she is around. You want his eyes to light up when he sees you again.

Longing to see you and enjoying himself every time he's with you, he'll come to realize that he wants to be with you for life. And if he fears losing you he'll make that commitment to you.
