Make Sure Your Ex Stays an Ex - How to Not Get Your Ex Back

If you have just suffered a breakup then you are probably hurting emotionally and metaphorically licking your wounds

. At a time like this it is possible you are wondering how to get your ex back, and it may be that this is the right move for you. The good news is it is a very realistic goal, and many relationships are salvageable, but now, just after you have broken up, it is time to tread very carefully. Making the wrong move now could see any prospect of a reconciliation dissipate. The following five things are what not to do, unless you want your ex to stay an ex that is.

1. Beg Them. -- It may seem tempting but there is nothing attractive or less likely to persuade your partner to want you back than begging them to do so.

2. Pester Them. -- OK so you may not be begging, but if you keep calling them constantly then you are also unlikely to have a positive effect on the mood of your ex. Remember this phrase "how can I miss you if you wont go away."

3. Stalk Them. -- Lurking outside their house, turning up at their place of work, accidentally bumping into them when they are out with their friends, all these things can be classed as stalking, and that is never going to make your ex partner think they need you back in their lives. In fact it is much more likely to have the exact opposite effect.

4. Exact revenge. -- Contrary to popular belief revenge is not sweet. Any form of revenge can only have a negative effect on any chance of you restoring your relationship, and in the long run will inevitably lead to feelings of guilt and remorse.

5. Hit on their best friends. -- In your post breakup mind you may think it's a perfectly good idea to make your ex jealous by trying to seduce one of their friends. This will definitely seal the deal if you want your ex to stay that way i.e. Ex, but can cause nothing but problems if the opposite is your aim.
