Make Your Pictures Pop! - The Importance of Composition In Erotic Nude Photography

Within the realm of photography, "composition" is defined as, "The art of combining parts or elements to form a whole." When composing a photograph, you have a finite area within the frame to work with; it's up to you to decide what to include in that frame and what to leave out. Once you decide which elements to include in the frame, you then take these elements and position them within the frame. How this is done is what will determine the composition of your image.

Placing and positioning elements within the frame does not only refer to the arrangement of tangible objects (for example, a lamp or a pillow). More importantly, it refers to how the picture is "framed" through the camera viewfinder. With every photograph you take, you will need to decide where the boundaries of the photo will be. In addition, you'll have the choice of your specific shooting angle. Also, since you will be photographing models - and models can move - you will have the opportunity to arrange the models into any number of positions.

Having to consider all these variables may seem like a lot to have to think about with every photograph. However, it's not as difficult as it may now seem. Remember, there is no single "right" way to compose a photograph. As the photographer, you have the final say in how your images are composed; you can compose them in any way you want. Keep in mind, however, that there are some guidelines you can use to help in creating interesting and eye-catching photographs. Composition is often the most significant difference between an average photograph, a good photograph, and a great photograph. In part, this is due to the extremely high quality of cameras now available. Generally, modern cameras do a good job of automatically finding sharp focus and calculating proper exposure.

However, what cameras cannot do is determine the best composition for a photograph. This most important task is still the responsibility of the photographer. Because modern cameras make it simple for nearly anyone to shoot technically competent photos (sharp and correctly exposed), the best way to stand out from your competition is to create images that are well composed.
