Any way you can reduce time and charges for shipping is a benefit for your customers making them more willing to return.

When you take it from a customers prospecive there is nothing worst then waiting and waiting for a product to arrive in the mail or having to chace it up. So why is it that one site can offer shipping in 2 days another you have to wait 4-8 weeks? Well if you have the same product but offer that big of a difference in shipping then you will definatly lose out to the competition. If you take more then a week to send a product to the customer normally they will not wait, unless it is free or a high ticket item.

If you do implement the UPS model, you may be tempted to send digital downloads through a page that is brown in color, but the real UPS company may have an issue with that. It is best to make the delivery image consistent with your company's image to maintain your own personal image visible in all customer dealings.
