Malaria an Awful Disease

Malaria is a disease that can be very dangerous and can take a person's life. It is a transmittable disease that can affect whole bunch of people. Mosquitoes are the main culprit that is responsible for spreading malaria. Over 5 million people die in a year due to malaria and 80%-90% people belongs to African and Asian continent. This is because most the countries in these continents are either developing or under developed. These continent shares more or less the same climatic condition that are ideal for mosquitoes to reproduce. Mosquitoes need hot and wet climate to multiply and they lay their eggs in stagnant water. It is not necessary that all the mosquitoes transmit malaria virus, there are some mosquitoes present in this world that are harmless and has nothing to do with any disease. The deadliest and the most harmful malaria causing mosquitoes are Anopheles mosquitoes. These mosquitoes are female mosquitoes that lay eggs every day to multiply.

When malaria parasites becomes active in a body, the symptoms of malaria appears in the form of chills, high fever that goes on and off, vomiting, headache, joints and muscle pain and sometimes diarrhea. The temperature of the body fluctuates sometimes with shivering cold and then with sweating. Malaria parasites usually become active at night.

Malaria is caused mainly due to poor sanitary condition and this condition gives more advantages to anopheles mosquitoes to multiply and spread malaria. The stagnant water helps the eggs to hatch which turns into larvae and then turns out to become adult anopheles mosquitoes. So cleaning the surrounding will keep these deadly mosquitoes away. Disposing of garbage and scrap should be proper as during rainy season the rain water collects on empty vessels and containers which is good enough for the anopheles mosquitoes to lay eggs and reproduce. When anopheles mosquitoes bite they release some parasite called plasmodium which enters human blood streams and attacks red blood corpusles.

Malaria can spread from person to person if the same mosquito bites the infected person and then the healthy person. Malaria can also be transmitted by donating blood, for e.g. if a blood donor has a medical history on malaria than that person should not donate blood as in many cases it has been noticed that Plasmodium does not wipe out completely and can revive any time.

There are many steps available that can control malaria and that can also be very useful if we apply them in our daily life. People living in the most affected area should always keep their surroundings clean. They should avoid going out in the late evening. They should use mosquito nets or mosquito mat and vaporizer. Eating fresh vegetables and fruits can build immune system strong that can give energy to fight against malaria parasites.

Malaria is a disease that can come any time like the unwanted guest and can be fatal on time that can take away a life. So treating malaria on time is important and that could be the smart move.
