Marine Drive is one of the most renowned and a competently laid-out road in South Mumbai. It is in fact an overturned semi circular-shaped six lane tangible road, which is nearly 3 km along the shoreline and when completely lighted at night actually gives an appearance of Queens Necklace. This path joins Nariman Point with Malabar Hills. To be found over tamed land, facing west-south-west, its shoreline outlines the fraction of the Arabian Sea. What pulls the attention to this road is the conspicuous walkway subsequently to the road, where numerous of people come to suck in some fresh air and observe the beautiful sunset. One can without difficulty arrive at Marine Drive by embarking buses or trains, or by engaging autos or cabs from the city side. Formally known by the name of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Road, Marine Drive was previously recognized as Sonapur among local Marathi population. Palm trees are to be found all along the road, offering a striking and a pleasing view and fastidious pavement to take a leisurely walk. Comprising of the maximum real land prices in India, the sky-scrapers along the road cuddle many hotels and are dwelling too many famous people and bollywood stars. Indeed, there is a line up of art deco constructions that were made by wealthy Parsis in the period early 1920's. Bombay is very close to Miami (USA) in its figure of art deco buildings all along the harbor. At night, Marine Drive is most strikingly enlightened, with lights and if seen from some lofty point next to the road, it seems as if it is like a necklace with lights all along the road similar to a string of pearls. Chowpatty Beach, celebrated for its local fast-food, is at the northern end of this path. One of the extremely busy roads in Mumbai, Marine Drive has been much-admired as the world's major screening galleries that congregate a variety of events. Marine Drive provides the most excellent boardwalk to take a stimulating and inspirational stroll next to the shimmering waters of the Arabian Sea. The chilly and fresh breeze would embrace you with its tender touch, making you believe as if you are in the seventh heaven. 'Nana-Nani' playground is the current appeal, which has been further added for older people in the vicinity. Amuse your taste buds with the roadside 'kulfi' and tit-bits offered at road-side stalls.
