There are companies who will submit your blog to hundreds of search engines for a small fee.

There are also many free tools that you can use to promote your blog. You can leave comments on other blogs with a link back to yours. For example, let's take the model airplane niche. Suppose you have a blog about model airplanes, and you want to produce more traffic. The first thing you would need to do is find a blog that is about model airplanes, or even just airplanes in general. Once you have found a popular blog that gets lots of traffic, you can leave a few comments. Leaving comments with a link back to your blog will get visitors to click over to your blog, and may even raise your link authority. If your blog is of interest to the reader, they might bookmark it and become a regular reader. One thing that's important to note is that the comments you leave should be pertinent to the post and contain some interesting information. Don't just write something like, "Nice post".

Updating your blog regularly will help your position in the search engines. They like blogs that have lots of fresh content added frequently. This will also encourage your readers to check your blog daily because they know that they will probably find fresh content. If you promise your readers that you will have new content daily, make sure you stick to it. If you can't, it's best not to announce it. If you don't live up to your word, you just might end up with readers that will not follow you because they cannot depend on you to give them what they are looking for.
