Me and my Logan

I had been working too hard lately what with all the meetings and deadlines I had to deal with

. I was getting very less time on my own. I am normally a loner and I like to travel here and there given a chance. But a year had passed since I had taken a trip at moments notice. Last friday I had the most excruciatingly painful day at office. Things reached a breaking point and then i realised that I needed to get out and be alone for sometime. When I was walking to my car it struck me with some force that I could actually get away for the weekend. Office could wait till Monday. Till then i would be free of worldly cares and just drive around. I got into my Logan and drove off with no idea where i was going and what I was going to do.

The thing about spontaneously taking off is that although it is highly unusual it is thoroughly cleansing and invigorating. The thrill of the moment is enough to get you through doubt and insecurity. Like I was saying, I drove down from the city to the Gujarat Highway, the signboard told me that I would reach Ahmedabad in a few hours. I was listening to music in my car and it just was an amazing experience to actually resonate with the music. The Logan is a very good car. I have been using it for 2 years now and it adjusts to the cesspit that the city of Mumbai is.It adjust equally to miles and miles travelled through the National Highways. The mileage I received was phenomenal. 25 kms/litre is a very good figure indeed. Although it may come across as a shock but I paid no attention to the car earlier because I was insanely busy with my work these years. I am an auto geek at heart and this was when I realised that I was sitting in one of the better cars that India has produced. It has good design and is very spacious. I drove till the wee hours of the night and when I reached Ahmedabad I realised my childhood friend Rahul was in the city. I quickly gave him a call and he was surprised that I was there. I crashed at his place for a few hours. Then we caught up on each others life and went out that evening. I met a lot of new people who were his colleagues. We partied till the wee hours of the night. And then on Sunday morning I said my goodbyes to Rahul. He promised that he would make it to Mumbai soon.

And so I started back to Mumbai. I reached late back on Sunday and after a bath I felt good as new. I woke up properly on Monday and went to work.The best part was that work didn't seem like a burden anymore.

So now Me and my Logan keep waiting to get out and away in the dark again.
