, is also called the Pink City as its walls of the buildings are painted in pink. The city of Jaipur was established in the year 1727 by Sawai Jaisingh II who had a good knowledge in astronomy. Jaipur, also called the Walled City, welcomes a lot of tourists every year. The heritage city, Jaipur fascinates its guests by its majestic forts and monuments.
Jaipur is home to several forts and monuments and some of them are Amber Fort, Jaigarh Fort, Jal Mahal, Nahargarh Fort, Hawa Mahal and the City Palace. Nahargarh Fort was the earlier residence of the Maharaja. Janthar Manthar is an observatory constructed by Sawai Jaisingh II used for astronomical calculations with the position of sunlight. There are a set of 14 buildings used for the calculations and is very reliable even now. This was originally made for royal ladies to view the procession in the streets. Amber fort is a huge fort which contains fantastic chambers like Diwan-i-Aam, Sheesh Mahal, Sukh Niwas and Jai Mahal. Sisodia Rani Garden is a marvelous garden built by raja for his queen. The best season to visit the city is from October to March.

Ahmedabad is popularly called the Manchester of the East as this city is famous for its textile industry. The city of Jaipur is well connected by air, rail and by road. There are many flights connect Ahmedabad to Jaipur. Several economical flights like SpiceJet, GoAir and Indigo connect the two cities at affordable fare. Taxis are available from the airport to the city.
Train is also a good option to reach Ahmedabad to Jaipur. There are several trains like Rajdhani, Aravalli Express and other superfast trains pass through these two cities which takes normally 9-10 hours to reach there. Some are plying in all days and others are on some particular days. Buses are also available that charge Rs. 600/- for a trip which are convenient too.
Taxis charge Rs. 13200/- for four people and Rs. 18500/- for more than four persons. Taxis are comfortable and time saving option.
If you are interested in driving in your own vehicle it takes around 10 hours 10 minutes to cover a distance of 674 km from Ahmedabad to Jaipur.
