At the year 2010, the National Association of Insurance Commissioners
, or NAIC, made major revisions and modifications to the Medicare supplement plans system, including the elimination of plans E, H, I, and the highly-deductible plan J. Such plans are eliminated due to the reason that preventive-care and at-home recovery benefits are eliminated. Without these benefits, plans would have been redundant. However, they added a hospice benefit to all remaining plans, which covers the five percent coinsurance charged for respite care and drugs during hospice care.
