I guess I should say upfront that Ive been meditating consistently since the age of 13
. I am of Indian decent so its *kind of* part of our cultureand to be honest I looked to it as something that could create a competitive edge for me in terms of my sports and academic performance.
Andto cut a long story shortIm pretty sure it did.
The biggest long-term benefit I put down to my meditation practice is an increase in self awareness. Its very hard to put into wordsbut its kind of a conscious understanding and questioning of who and what I amplus the ability to look at myself and my experience from a space of less attachment. I believe this allows more space for me to see opportunities, correct what Im doingand just be a better person in general (I know thats kinda wishy washy but hey Im just relaying my experience).
Nowadaysmy daily meditation practice is focussed on my goals. I use my meditation time to go down to a whole brain thinking level, imagine my goal as already completed and transmit those feelings from that supercharge state of mind. I honestly believe this has been one of the secrets to my success in attracting abundance.
So what kinds of meditation have I donewell a LOT:
The Silva Method
OpenFocus
Colour based meditation
Timeline based meditation
etc.
Ive also used a couple tools like different binaural beats and isochronic tones.
For anyone interested in beginning meditation I would first ask youwhat is your intention?
If youre more interested in using it sharpen your focus, and fast manifest what you desirethen I suggest an active type meditation practicelike the one I teach over here: http://manifestitalltoday.com/manifestanything/
If youre more interested in achieving a greater sense of awareness then I suggest a more passive type meditation..like OpenFocus.
