Men As The Preys Of Emotional Offence
As a matter of fact, men are stronger, more tougher and more dominant than women
. So, it is difficult to digest that even these stronger parts of our society can be a victim of abuse, especially from the weaker sex. Yet when you are in the field of law and order, there is no end to weird stories. It may seem to most that domestic violence and abuse is more common in economically backward areas. However, even in the large cities the circumstances not more different. A Las Vegas domestic abuse attorney often works selflessly to minimize the rate of such crimes. According to a Las Vegas domestic violence attorney, the percentage of men in such cases is about 19%. About half of these 19% men victims are offended by their spouses.
Domestic abuse is deemed as a serious felony and there are some serious laws against it. What many people do not understand is the possibility of a weaker person attacking a man. The offence is not only physical, but also emotional and psychological. However, many female abusers don't even refrain from physical attacks. These physical abuses include slapping, biting, hitting or any way that a person can use to physically hurt someone. The victims do not necessarily have to be the husbands. It can be a son, a father in law, brother or any relative who shares the same roof. Most men do not hit back because they are too afraid to hurt the abuser more badly, or as a reason of a history of such offence from her since early years.
There is another dilemma in these cases. Most victims are hesistant or psychologically too afraid to tell anyone about the violence because no one would possibly believe such a story. As men are also thought to have stronger nerves, they most of the time fail to realize that they are even victims. The type of domestic offence men usually come across is oral and emotional. The consequence is a constant psychological stress that leads to psychological disturbance. Studies have shown that both children and adults under such violent circumstances lack confidence and a reasonable IQ level. It is very crucial to know that you are a victim and do something about it.
You are being abused, if:
Someone constantly makes fun of you and criticizes you in presence of family and friends.
Your own wishes are always thought of as as selfishness.
You have tight laws to follow around your own home and breaking them can result in beating or violence.
You are exposed to be harmed or that person threatens to hurt her own self, if you do not follow the order.
You are not permitted to spend your own money.
You are not allowed to meet certain people even in the family.
You are made to to do something criminal.
These are only a few examples that many people fail to identify as domestic violence. One should know that he has to be a better part of the society, which is not achievable under such circumstances. Some thing has to be done even if you are scared of not being taken seriously. You can never tell, sometimes strangers can lend you a good ear and much advice.
