Mercedes Boston dealers love real-life stories showing Mercedes-Benz safety standards
Who doesn't love a good tear-jerker or at least a nail-biter? Fans of the Hallmark Channel and Animal Planet's "I Shouldn't Be Alive" will all enjoy the short films by Mercedes-Benz USA featuring real-life drama of Mercedes owners who survived accidents.
This genius marketing tool was the brainchild of Mercedes-Benz's marketing agency Merkley + Partners and its digital marketing agency Razorfish. (Who knew it took two agencies to successfully sell a car in today's market?) Rhode Island used Mercedes G-Class will be more concerned with the amazing safety features on Mercedes models than the company that markets them.
The shorts, which will have Boston Mercedes customers on the edge of their seats, poignantly yet thrillingly show how the sophisticated safety systems and quality construction of the Mercedes-Benz line can help protect passengers even in the most dire circumstances.
Steve Cannon, vice president of marketing for Mercedes-Benz USA said, "We literally have hundreds and hundreds of these experiences sent to us by our customers and we all agreed that we had to find a way to bring these experiences to life and share the stories of survival and perspective. We wanted the stories to be powerful but also authentic and, most of all, we wanted them to share the perspective that these people walked away with."
Well they certainly did that. There's no better testimony than that of a firefighter who has just rescued an accident victim from a vehicle virtually unharmed. The actual quote from the "docummercial" is, "The fireman told me if you can live through that then I want my wife driving that car' ". You can't make up stuff like this. (Well, you can, but it just sounds cheesy.)
The film campaign has been dubbed "Impact" and was done by noted documentary maker Henry Corra. The films can be viewed at www.MBUSA.com/Impact and after being previewed on Facebook, several other Mercedes-Benz owners shared their own stories. Rhode Island used Mercedes G-Class owners will appreciate these scenarios.
The Facebook site (www.facebook.com/mercedesbenzusa) has become so popular that Mercedes-Benz USA has invited all owners to submit their survival stories. One story will be chosen to feature each week on the Facebook page. Mercedes Boston owners are invited to share their experiences as well.
Other amazing stories you will hear include statements like:
"The car absorbed all the force. It saved our lives."
"Everyone told me that it was our car that saved us - both insurance companies, the police, the people in the ambulance. That specific car is the reason we walked away."
"I feel so strongly about it - it's not just a pretty car - it will save your life."
"We've always been very loyal Mercedes customers, and after this accident we will never ever buy another brand of car."
Mercedes-Benz if hoping a few hundred thousand more people feel that way.
