Decorative beads or glitters
Method Of Making Ganesh Idols:
Knead the clay into a rectangular shape. This will serve as the seat of Lord Ganesh.
Then knead some clay in to a ball approximately the size of a tennis ball. This will be the lower part of the body of Lord Ganesh Statues.
Place this round ball of clay on the rectangular clay sheet.
Then for the upper part of the body of Lord Ganesha, knead a clay ball which is three fourth the size of the previous ball of clay.
With slightly wet fingers place the smaller ball of clay on the bigger one.
Now the upper and lower parts of the body of Lord Ganesh are ready.
Now make the legs of Lord Ganesh by kneading some more clay.
Attach these legs to the body in a way that one leg is placed on top of the other. The upper leg should be thicker than the lower leg.
Then make two arms of Lord Ganesh with two long shapes of clay.
Then make two palms of the body with two balls of clay.
In one palm, place a small round ball of clay representing the Laddoo or Modak of Lord Ganesh.
Then knead some clay in a cylindrical shape but keep it thicker from one side.
Attach the thicker end of this kneaded clay to the upper part of the body of Lord Ganesh to make the trunk of the idol.
Then with black paint draw the eyes and other features on the face of the idol.
Paint the other parts of the body with some bright water colors to show the clothes of Lord Ganesh.
Keep this idol in the sun to allow it to dry.
