Midland Wr300 Weather Radio Review

This is a great very little weather radio! I was really expecting it to be a bit

larger and was happily stunned that its solely 6.5 inches wide by five inches exhaustive. Very little! I intended to relinquish this as a gift to my grandma who goes right down to FL every winter. This can be a very good weather radio. I have been looking out and tried a range of shopper retail weather radios over the years within the moderately expensive price range. None have performed, with, the Midland WR300. It works completely flawlessly as a weather radio. If one follows the directions it is very easy to setup and use. Additionally, the alert alarm is loud and clear. I even have been using the one I actually have for a variety of months.

I even have never had a missed alert with the WR-300. It responds to all of the NOAA test signals perfectly. It also responds to all of the tornado alerts, floods, amber alerts, simply everything perfectly where I live. And therefore the reception is very stable and clear. Never, have I seen a client retail weather radio perform like the WR-300. Just as a note, I am additionally an electronics professional and have a very clear understanding of electronic equipment.

This radio is excellent as a weather radio. If you're trying for an timer, an AM/FM radio, etc. then this is not the radio for you. It's, but, a superb weather radio. The clock is difficult to determine and use as an alarm clock and the AM/FM reception leaves a heap to be desired in selectivity, reception and tonal quality. I think the goal of the designers was to deliver a beautiful weather radio and therefore the AM/FM broadcast bands and grandfather clock functions were secondary.

With this said, I do need to add that the tonal quality of the weather info is superb and exceptionally clear, in addition, as the steadiness of the receptivity NOAA signal. Simply FYI, what I do is use the WR-300 as a prime quality weather radio, but I even have a separate clock radio with AM/FM, timer, etc.

I provide the WR-300 my highest rating possible as a fine consumer retail weather radio for every day use.
