Different applications are developed for the different Smartphones like iPhone, BlackBerry, Android and Symbian applications. Companies are investing large amount of money in this specific sector. From last few years mobile applications are used b almost all the people on their mobile phones. People use this application not only for their personal use but also for the business purposes. Customers are demanding more and more mobile applications due to which companies are focusing to develop applications for mobiles. When the mobile application is developed it becomes very much necessary to test it so that we can come to know that how the application is performing on all the devices. We test from the end user perspective. Mobile Application testing helps to find out the gaps that are hindering the user. There are different types testing under mobile application testing which are functional testing, performance testing, usability, compatibility, load and stress testing etc. While selecting for the company who will perform mobile application testing we should take in mind certain considerations. First of all you have to see that whether the company has good reputation or not. Secondly you have to see that whether they have hired qualified software test engineers to complete the projects or not. There is requirement of dedicated team to perform the testing who knows all the nuances of the mobiles. There are different challenges which are faced while testing the mobile applications. First is the multiple devices are available in the market which have differ features. One application which performs well on one device does not mean that it will perform same on the other one. Mobiles have different screen resolution, technical capabilities, display size etc which cause lot of problem while testing. Different operating systems are prevalent in the market like Symbian, Android, and Blackberry etc. Different types of mobile devices are compatible with different operating systems. This makes very challenging to perform Mobile Application Testing. As we know that special hardware components are attached to the mobile devices. These extra hardware components attached to it creates lot of pressure on testing. Even the testing procedure differs according to the application and mobile device. We have to make sure that users dont find any difficulty while accessing these applications. These are some important facts that need to be considered.
