When an order is dispatched they will be given their own unique login which allows them to see the history of their parcel. Track and Trace is a valued feature because it allows people to see the location of their parcel, checking on the whereabouts of their parcel allows them to know if they can go out and run errands or if they should stay in because their parcel is out for delivery.

Once the parcel has been received from the customer a signature is required and this is recorded and sent back to the base to show that the parcel has been received. A signature is required so that there is proof of delivery meaning that if there are any issues the delivery company will be able to show that a signature was received for the parcel at that address. If a parcel is signed for by a neighbour then a card will be left for the customer so that they know their parcel isnt missing and they can go and collect their parcel from a neighbour. If no one is in then the parcel will be returned to the depot and a delivery will be tried again the next day or the customer will be required to rearrange a delivery for a day convenient for them.

Mobile delivery software and courier delivery software allows companies to use their resources in the best possible way, monitoring the location of all parcels to reduce the risk of any going missing. Along with utilising drivers for both pickups and delivers so that there is no need to send out an additional driver.
