Of late, the creative forms of promotional marketing, otherwise called buzz marketing or event marketing, has been gaining acceptance and popularity. It has been perceived as a high-growth area, and the returns or compensation seems to be improving in a fast manner. General requirements to qualify as a model for purposes of promotional modelling are many and varied. Promotional modelling presupposes a rounded personality with good interpersonal skills. He should have the skills needed to establish quick rapport with others and has to stay focused on the task assigned to him. If you like to meet people and is one who enjoys the hurly-burly of a tradeshow setting, promotional modelling is there for you because it is easier to break into this area than commercial modelling domain. Nevertheless, one can find exceptions here also. The interesting thing is that the job is not principally about being photographed all the time. But you are expected to look and act in a way conducive to promoting the product in the best way possible. No wonder, promotional/event modelling has been witnessing tremendous growth in the recent years. Another type of modelling happens in runways, and big fashion houses conduct fashion shows to showcase their designs. Fashion models working in this arena help launch new product designs and show off the latest trends in apparels, accessories, footwear, jewellery, swimsuits and beachwear. Large fashion shows attract good media coverage, and a fashion model with good features and style can get exposure by being featured in some of the leading fashion magazines such as Vogue and Cosmopolitan. There is also a good chance for the models to appear on television commercials too. The industry-specific fashion shows that happen from time to time meant for clothing apparels and swimwear could hire hundreds of models for a single show. Internet modelling also is a growing segment. By and large, one has to be above the age of 18 to qualify as a model. These models could be hired for static photo content on web sites or even for live webcam or streaming video. And, this category also is becoming a popular target of aspiring models.
