Monophobia and Your Relationship

Many men and women that feel like they should rush into a relationship do so because they are afraid that they will end up alone. The problem with this is that a relationship that is developed solely around any kind of fear is going to fail and will end up with both parties being very unhappy. Before anyone can be in a relationship and make it work and be happy, they have to make themselves happy.

A person has to learn to be happy and comfortable with themselves before they can expect someone else to make them happy. The problem is that a person will be willing to give up their happiness and put it in someone else's hand as long as they are not alone, if the fear of being alone is that great.

In order for you to be able to feel comfortable with yourself then you must be able to admit that you have faults just like everyone else and you have to learn to accept them. Once you do this then you are on the road to understanding yourself and knowing that you can be happy and you don't have to have others around to feel that way.

Knowing yourself and understanding what makes you happy and comfortable makes you more ready to pursue a relationship with someone else; a healthy relationship that will last and that both of you can be happy in. Being alone isn't the only thing that can make a person unhappy, sometimes it can be being in a relationship for the wrong reasons.
