Some of the more uncommon treatments that people seek is one like couples massage, where a couple can receive their massages together in the same room with two therapists. You can elect to get the same treatment as your partner or a completely different one. Some elite establishments offer four hand massage, or tandem massage, where the client is able to receive their massage by two therapists at the same time.

Another massage therapy that is popular is one called Trigger Point therapy, where pain is targeted and is relieved by using specific pressure and gentle stretching to release painful knots that are often found to plague overworked and strained muscles. Pregnancy massage is used to help moms to be decrease discomfort and pain throughout her pregnancy. Finally, many people turn to the massage therapy known as neuromuscular therapy to relieve pain, which targets specific points in tendons, muscles and attachment sites.

Taking part in these therapies is convenient in many cities and towns throughout the country, and they are available in clinics, salons, parlors and even in hospitals and medical centers as well. There are even some professionals that will come to your home or office on an outcall basis for their clients convenience. In addition to the aforementioned massage therapy regimens, there is also myofascial release, acupressure, reflexology, medical massage and rolfing available as treatments.
