Split ends

Flaky scalp

It is a common problem in which the flaky or itchy scalp generates small white flakes of dead skin. The white dead skin you see on your shoulder is as a result of a flaky scalp. The major reasons for this condition are improper rinsing or shampooing; a poor diet that lacks essential vitamins; and exterior factors such as air conditioning and central heating. You can get rid of this condition with the use of a good quality shampoo and conditioner that is rich in moisture.

Dandruff

There is a common misconception that a flaky scalp is dandruff. It is fairly different from a flaky or itchy scalp. Dandruff manifests itself in scaly particles which have a tendency to stay behind at the root of the hair. It can be caused by a poor diet, slow metabolism or sometimes through an infection. It is also believed that stress may play a part in the development of this scalp condition. There are many products available to effectively treat dandruff. As manufacturers unhelpfully promote their flaky scalp products as dandruff products, before purchasing, make sure you are not buying one for flaky scalp. Always read the label closely to guarantee the product is intended for your problem.

Frizzy hair

Generally, it is caused when the hair follicles absorb excessive moisture from the air. This produces the dry and uncontrollable effect. The condition can also be caused by too much brushing or simply through the genes passed onto us from our parents. After identifying the potential causes, you can decide the type of product that effectively addresses the problem.
