Motivation is a very big factor in success for sports workouts. One can get motivated by different means. Athletes get motivated by reading books, watching movies or listening to other athletes.
An athlete may find many obstacles on his way to success. A tough job, heavy school load, a strained relationship or some other factors may decrease the motivation of an athlete in working towards his goal. Therefore, it is important for an athlete to have different sources of motivation to keep him going.
There are some tips to keep you motivated. One tip to keep you motivated is setting short term and long term goals. Another tip is to surround yourself with motivated people. Motivated people inspire you to be motivated. You can also get motivated by listening to music.
I listen to songs before, during and after physical activities like weight lifting, running and hiking. I use an Ipod to listen to music because it is small and portable. I can use it even when I am out in the mountains. I can pick the right song to motivate me before a tough run uphill.
Personally, my favorite music is house/techno. Some of my favorite artists are Bad Boy Gill, George Acosta, Ferry Corsten and many others.
One can also find lots of videos over the internet to motivate you. You can find vast variety of videos on Youtube, Metacafe and Vimeo. I often watch videos of my favorite athletes before workouts. These videos help me get motivated.
Mixed martial arts' is one of my favorite sports. My favorite organization is UFC. My favorite fighters in this organization are Brock Lesnar, Randy Couture, George St. Piere, B.J. Penn and Wanderlei Silva.
Of all my favorite fighters, I like watching Wanderlei Silva a lot. He brings a lot of energy and a will to kill. This greatly motivates me.
You can find a lot of videos of Wanderlei Silva in action on the Youtube. Watch them and you will understand what I mean. Even if you do not like his videos, you can use some of the other ideas I have mentioned previously to get motivated. Positive mindset helps a lot in motivation which eventually leads to great performances.
