Movie About Living With Cerebral Palsy
In America, there are approximately 4 million people
. who have to cope with a developmental disability. These are people with hopes and dreams like the rest of us. This is the story of one such individual,an amazing man who has overcome incredible odds. Told by those who know and love him, and have grown and worked with him. This is the story of Chris Myers as he shows us what its like to live life without boundaries.
Chris Myers always wanted to have a career in baseball, however living with a disability has limited him and prevented him from playing. His story is a true success as he has fought his way through life determined to accomplish his dreams. Despite his challenges, he still managed to edge his way into the industry he loves and continues to battle the odds towards his lifes goals.
Chris Myers works in the video and in-game entertainment department of the Florida Marlins. His situation is unique in that out of 122 major league sports teams in North America (NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL), he is only one of a few that hold a such a position while facing a debilitating disability such as Cerebral Palsy. He is highly intelligent and his knowledge of the sport is unparalelled, earning him the pseudo-nickname of the Rain Man of baseball.
He has also overcome an often turbulent childhood facing challeges from discrimination towards his handicap to the traumatic loss of his father. With support from his family and loved ones he went on to graduate from college, secure an internship that eventually led to his employment with the Florida Marlins, and to even find the happiness of marriage.
Many people are aware of the word disability but rarely understand the complete challenge of life unless they or a loved one experiences it. The story of Chris Myers shows how important it is to understand that people inflicted with a disability have the same desire to survive and succeed in life as everyone else. It is an attempt to erase preconceived ideas that the disabled are a burden and how they can contribute to society.
Established in 2001 and with over 30 years of combined experience, Fade 2 Black Productions, Inc. has become one of the fastest growing companies in the world of video production. Founders Zachery D. Powell and Daniel J. Sanz began the endeavor with a used broadcast camera and a PC and through good old fashioned sweat and hard work built the company from nothing into a competitive and low cost solution for customers seeking professional video services.
Working hard to earn every single building block of their company (right down to the office supplies) they quickly learned how to streamline productions, keeping cost low while not compromising the expectations of their customers. Each project led to another project, and it wasn't long before Fade 2 Black was providing production services to institutions such as Florida Atlantic University, The Florida Department of Juvenile Justice, The Florida Marlins, The Miami Dolphins, The Sun-Sentinel and more.
In 2002 Fade 2 Black teamed up with Clear Channel Radio to produce the short film Paul and Young Ron's Dead Air which featured Paul Castronovo and Young Ron Brewer from 94.9 Zeta. The film was part of a competition which engaged listeners to submit their own scripts starring the morning show hosts. On October 30, 2002 Dead Air premiered at the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival as a featured presentation in Las Olas, Fort Lauderdale.
In the spring of 2004 Fade 2 Black Productions gained a new executive team member, Tony DePasquale. Having been part of industrial music band, Nation of Fear, Tony brought a rich musical background and experience to the company. Later that year Fade 2 Black Productions began production on Feedback!, a cable show geared to helping aspiring musical artists fine tune their craft and navigate the record industry.
Fade 2 Black Productions now also offers production services for independent filmmakers, as well as having original films in development. Filmmakers can utilize services as simple as consultations or script reviews, or as much as the full production of the film.
